Proxxi specializes in wearable workplace safety technology. Their first product, Proxxi Voltage, is an innovative voltage-sensing wristband designed to prevent industrial electric injuries. Proxxi has been featured in Forbes, The Washington Post, Smithsonian, and TechCrunch for its groundbreaking work.
At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Proxxi developed Proxxi Contact, an automated contact tracing technology providing real-time alerts for social distancing. Proxxi Contact generates exposure reports, helping mitigate business disruptions by breaking transmission chains at the source.
Our Work
Alteria provided product leadership and expertise across multiple technological disciplines to support Proxxi’s safety solutions. These solutions required integrating custom hardware, firmware, mobile apps, API services, and web dashboards. The Challenges
Proxxi faced two major challenges:
Accelerated Timeline: Proxxi needed to bring Proxxi Contact from concept to customer release within five months. Alteria’s principal, Evan Willms, created a product roadmap and development backlog, incorporating customer-acceptance criteria and engineering feasibility into a cohesive plan. By leveraging existing technical assets, Alteria minimized new development and ensured the project met its tight schedule.
Vendor Compliance: A Fortune 50 client interested in Proxxi’s electrical-safety solution required stringent information-security compliance. Alteria identified requirements, avoided unnecessary SOC2 certification, and implemented SOC2-aligned policies and a pentest that met procurement criteria, closing the deal months ahead of projections.
The Outcome
Alteria’s involvement helped Proxxi achieve several milestones:
Delivered Proxxi Contact to market within the aggressive five-month timeline.
Enabled a Fortune 50 client to purchase Proxxi’s electrical-safety solution by meeting compliance requirements efficiently.
